Wireless Transmission
What is wireless transmission?
The connection of two or more devices using a wireless signal through electromagnetic signals broadcasted by an enabled device in the atmosphere (usually a satellite).
- Maximum transmission speed for wireless is around 54-58 Mbps.
- This all varies depending on where the WAP/router is placed and how many other devices are also using this access point.
- Obviously the more devices that are in use, the slower the speed will be.
- Wireless transmission has a relatively high capacity, but is not always of high-speed due to many interferences from other sources due to its unbound nature (in comparison to cables)
- The most common types of wireless security include:
- Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP)
- Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA).
- WEP is considered to be the weakest of the two in that the password can
